Home Birth
When childbirth unfolds in an environment where the woman feels calm, safe and unobserved, the hormones of birth flow easily. Giving birth in our home promotes the physiology of birth and makes it pleasurable. Babies born with the conscious accompaniment of their mothers in a natural and pleasurable birth come loaded with hormones such as endorphins that provide them with a peak experience and a tremendous sense of well-being at birth; this experience helps them maintain their full capacity to love.
IBU ROBIN LIM
We are talking about the creation of peaceful societies. We know that the more choices women have when giving birth, the freer a society is. Welcoming our baby in the peace and calm of our home helps reinforce the mother-child bond, ensuring low cortisol levels for both, and fostering a secure attachment that will be key for their emotional development in the future.
The midwives at La Casa de Isis fully trust in your ability to give birth naturally and in your baby's ability to be born. We know that the continuous accompaniment of a well-trained midwife enhances the satisfaction of the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. Furthermore, we believe that providing you with all the information you need, with as little bias as possible and based on scientific evidence, will help empower you to make informed and autonomous decisions.

La Casa de Isis is a birth centre located in Orba, a Mediterranean enclave between Alicante and Valencia.
For us, birth is a sacred event, worthy of respect and veneration. Although Isis was an Egyptian goddess, her temples spread throughout the Mediterranean during the Roman era. They were spaces dedicated to the understanding of femininity and magic. The name arises because we want to invoke the archetype of the "Great Creator Goddess", "the Great Mother": she who cares for everything, watches over everything, protects and keeps under her wing.
The midwife, the "comare," the "mari," has historically been the point of reference for care during pregnancy and birth in Spain. The essence of our work is to provide you with confidence, security, support, respect, and autonomy. As midwives, we are extensively trained to accompany births, both in theory and practice, both in hospitals and at home. Home birth and natural birth are some of our specific skills in which we specialise. In addition, an up-to-date health registry backs us, making this work a completely sustainable and legal practice in our community. We are activist midwives who fight to ensure the rights of women and their children are upheld in processes related to birth (www.asociacionmama.es). We are part of the main midwives' associations in Spain (www.nacerencasa.org)(www.midwiferyunitnetwork.org) and we continuously work to improve communication with public health services and the integration of home birth into their range of services.
DONATIONS
Thank you for your support!
There are many costs associated with accompanying a home birth and keeping a birth centre open. We continuously strive to keep these costs to a minimum; even so, and unfortunately, some families cannot afford this option. In countries around us, home birth care is financially covered by the health system, but this is not the case in Spain. If you feel that you would like to support these families who are experiencing real financial difficulties, please donate. No matter if the amount is large or small, you can make this family's dream come true. In the meantime, we continue to work for the integration of home birth into our health system.
“They have had a very personal approach during the check-ups and really made time for the personal experience for me and the father besides the functional routine checks.”
"I felt heard and supported. Most importantly, I was finally able to have the natural birth I wanted, and I was attended to at all times. I recommend it to any family, and I can only be extremely grateful to Marta and her colleagues."
"She appeared by my side when I called and needed her during birth, and the rest of the time, she maintained her observation without interrupting my process."
